AFDC Workshops

The Academy of Fight Directors Canada offers various workshops both annually and on-demand, allowing members at all levels of their stage combat journey to grow their skills.

The National Stage Combat Workshop ('The Nationals') is the largest Certification training event produced by FDC.  It occurs biennially in even-numbered years, and offers certification at all levels (Basic through Instructor) at one time. It's location varies, allowing students from across the country to learn from teachers outside their regular communities, and allowing our teachers to actively share best practices and ideas.
Beginning in 2021, FDCNext will run opposite the Nationals in odd-numbered years. Rather than being a single workshop, FDCNext will be a series of simultaneous or overlapping workshops held across the country. Each workshop location will offer classes that best serve the local membership (with or without a certification component), and there will also be live streamed classes enabling FDCNext participants nationwide to participate.
Don't want to wait for Nationals? Do you want to train, but there aren't any schools near you?

AFDC will be happy to support anyone wanting to organize a class in their city. Our Regional workshop program will provide anyone interested in hosting organizational support, marketing materials, and will connect you with teachers who would be happy to come to you! Get in touch with our Director of Training or use the email form on our contact page for more information.
