Definition

(Fr.) An attack from engagment, incorporating a grazing action where the blades stay in contact throughout.

Explanation

also Glissade

(Intermediate) To extend the sword-arm, the blade remaining in contact with the partner’s blade and slipping lightly along it. The action may be completed by an attack, or the coulé may serve as a feint to force the partner into a hasty covering action, which may then be deceived by a disengagement.
