Basic Level Unarmed term

Definition

The illusion of strangulation by use of a part of the operators body or a secondary object.

Explanation

(Intermediate) Any form of obstructing one’s opponent’s ability to breathe by using various types of arm and leg leverage to pinch or squeeze off the air passage and blood vessels close to the head causing loss of consciousness. Commonly applied in Jujutsu and Judo.

(Advanced) Known in Japanese as jime; in Korean as cho-rugi.
