Intermediate Level Martial Arts term

Definition

A specific method of falling designed to protect your body from damage as you hit the ground. There are eight basic break falls found in Judo and Hapkido. The one you use will be based on how you are thrown. In all break-falls, you will attempt to control your body position while partially or completely airborne.
