Definition

(eye kee doh) The Japanese Martial Art founded by Morihei Ueshiba in Tokyo in 1942. The English Translation is ‚ÄúWay of Harmony‚Äù. Utilizing the principles of harmony and non-resistance a practitioner of Aikido will lead the attacker in a generally circular path, turning around the defender’s center axis neutralizing the aggressive action by gaining control of the attacker’s momentum.
